Cheap Bilge alarm from Lidl?

I spotted this on the Lidl website, and wondered if it would make a cheap bilge alarm.

EDIT. They also have a gas alarm.

Only problem with the gas alarm is that it is mains powered. Otherwise it looks to be good value.

I've had 3 of an earlier version from Lidl on the boat for 1-2 yrs and seem fine; these were a self contained unit with sensors below the unit box. about 2-£3 as I recall.

Sensitive and the 9v bat lasts well

If the gas alarm is the same as the one they were selling last year it's actually 12V with a transformer. So just cut the transformer off and wire it up to 12V. I did this on my boat and it works a treat

Also 1kg fire extinguishers at £4.99 and a heat sensor that could be useful in the engine compartment. Not availabel until Thursday though.
