chart plotter

Evening all,

I have acquired a laptop for the boat and would like to use it as a chart plotter for my voyage to Gibraltar next week.

Does the Team have any suggestions?

OpenCPN (http://www.opencpn.org) is my current favourite.

Yes OpenCPN, but you are going to have to work hard with it to be familiar enough with it to use it for primary nav if you are off in a week.
You should be able to to find your way around it enough to explore areas and maybe a bit of route planning.
If you haven't got one, you need a usb GPS for it.
