Help..
I have just purchased a raymarine 320 chart plotter. I havent put it on the boat yet but when im playing with it at the kitchen table it is very slow downloading maps. How often will it download a new map when im traveling in the boat?

Exactly which model is it? as you can see from my other posts I am about to buy one and can't make up my mind. What made you choose your particular model?

I looked at chart plotters for a long time before i decided to go with the Raymarine Raychart320.
One reason that i went with them was because i got a good price from a store here in Ottawa. They were selling for around $1200.00 Canadian, but i picked up this one for $700.00.
I have no problem with it i think it is a very good unit.
I stayed away from Garmin as the price of there charts are out of this world. The charts that i needed cost me $300.00 Canadian, for the Raymarine where it was going to be $800.00 for the same charts for Garmin. Although garmin seems cheap you have to pay them for unlock codes to access a large area.

its the RL 72 RC+ 7" screen with the 18" scanner
it war the best option @ the time & is very easy to use with cold / wet fingers.
to-day i would go for the Raymarine "C" series u can get the 12" screen for around £1600 + Navionic chip scanner say £700 if u can get a "deal".
i have Raytheon instruments,GPS, A/H 6000 + the above.all very reliable ( to date)
