Looking to buy a plotter which I can mount up on flybridge. I like the look of the Garmin 176c but many folks seem to suggest that it is worth spending the extra on a 182c. I already have a Robertson plotter at lower helm and a new purchase would be soley to help me when up the ladder.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

Navman 5500 or 5600 is a well priced colour plotter that is easy to use. Haven't yet tested its visibility in the sun. Uses Cmap cartridges. I guess it would make sense to buy a plotter that uses the same cartridges as your existing one.
