I flew over the channel this afternoon at 24,000'.....

I was lucky enough to have a pretty cloudless view, and could see both sides of the Dover straight at the same time....

It was enormously confidence building... while there was a fair degree of traffic in the TSS it wasn't a problem to see a way through without any problems.... it was however amusing to see the X channel ferries like they were on a chain, going back and forth... but overall: moral... don't be nervous of crossing... its not as bad as it is made out to be!

And if you were the huge Stinkie belting out of Calais... looked like you were having a great crossing in the warm afternoon sun /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Neil,
I used to fly across and back every week. The amazing thing was the Goodwin Sands at Low Water Springs in good weather - looked just like a coral atoll!!!
Just finished planning my Zebra Crossing points on the TSSes for this weekend. If not Ostend, we will divert to Nieuwpoort, decision point at West Oost dyck. Depends where we get a mobile signal or VHF to check availability in the harbours. Looks like the weather might be n*ce.
