Well, it's been a fairly busy few months since we had Magnum in April and I've racked up some 570 miles and 59 engine hours. Considering she's our first boat I'm delighted with what we've acheived. Last week we went from Torquay to Salcombe, then Falmouth, Fowey and back to Torquay. Love Salcombe and Fowey, but if I catch the toerag that let my tender floor down he'll be feeling my size 13's in the seat of his pants.

Anyway, I have my kids onboard from Friday and I fancy a trip to the Channel Isles. St Peter Port in Guernsey looks favourite but I'm concerned it'll be too busy to get in at this time of year. A swinging mooring in Braye harbour looks possible, as does a night or two in St Helier in Jersey although I'm not quite sure where.

Any info regarding the above or any other berthing/mooring options greatfully received :)

St. Peter Port is a favourite haunt of mine and yes it can get busy at this time of year however on my regular August trip there I tend to time my arrival ........get there about 15 mins before access over the sill.......don't raft up on the waiting pontoons.....just hold station outside until the Harbourmaster organises the cavalry!!. With your hull length he will have you in as one of the 1st boats........never failed me yet !!!!. We are going there on the 25th August before getting back across to Dartmouth for a couple of nights at the regatta

Anywhere down there will be busy this time of year but don't let that put you off -- just expect to raft and get a bit friendly with others.

I personally love Alderney but Braye not good in any kind of wind out of the north especially north-east.

Visitor facility in St Peter Port is Victoria Marina and in St Helier it it at the northern end of the St Helier Marina.

Maybe even better if you dont (Get in) outside you can come and go as you wish. Visit Herm or Sark. France is only a few miles away. Mind St Peters port does remind me of Accrington so go to Bray, rent a car or bike and see a proper island. Dont worry the Jerry's have gone now, but you can hardly tell. Some places are just opening up!!!
