With regard to the CG 66 On Line at “www.mcga.gov.uk/cg66”
I would be interested to know if anyone has succesfully used this on line data entry service.
I have attempted to enter, ON LINE, my Personal and Vessel details several times over the last few weeks and all seemed OK. The “COMPLETED” details page prints without problems and after this I have selected the “SAVE” option. BUT on re-entering the site no records are shown on the system.
I then attempted several times to submit an On Line Request for Support, but on each occasion on “SUBMIT” a failure was reported as “Time Out Failure to communicate”.
Are the above likely to be due to an error on my part, a fault on the CG system, or some incompatibility of the computer systems being used.
Thanks in anticipation of helpful responses.
Bob S
P.S.
My thanks to all for information and entertainment to be found on this forum.

Hi Grandad,
I've just checked my records after seeing this post and retrieved them ok. But this is some months after entering the records in the first place, if for some reason that makes a difference.

I had problems too.

I am not even sure my details are logged on the database. Same problems as you, 404 error when submitting and when looking back at record it was not seemingly there, I will have a look this evening to see if I can access my account.

OK, so you put in your details on line. Then what do you say when you radio in a passage plan and the coastguard asks which area you're registered with?

had exactly the same problems as you......after discussions with the nice man at cg66, their it expert decided it must be just my computer. (ah, and yours).

Guessing a bit....do you use older software too? win95 or IE5?

I think you will find this is a carry over from the days (not far back) when the local stations held local records.
There is now one DB for voulantary CG66 data, one for radio licences/call signs..........
At some point there really will "only be one"

Will this search work if you have registered by 'snail mail' in the past?

Thanks to all who took the time and trouble to respond to my query.
It may be that my problem is the “State of the ARK (works) computer” I have used.
So I will now try on my daughters home unit (running Windows XP) then if all else fails I can Post a print out of details direct to Liverpool CG.
Regards to all.
