Or "Buyer Beware". You probably all read my split petrol tank saga having only owned my Windy for two weeks. My disappointment is that I thought I was going about the purchase the right way - not so!
Having put a deposit down using a credit card cheque, on the advice of my card issuer, I though I may have some recourse here - not so! The advice was wrong.
Having had a survey done, I thought that there may be some recourse here - not so! The survey was too heavily caveated.
Any recourse on the broker?? Nope! The trading standards advise me that this is classified as a "private sale" and as such the broker and previous owner can just walk away.
Insurance company maybe? Nope! Wear & Tear ain't covered.
So, I am £1500 to the bad.
The good news is that my new fuel tank has been made and is being dropped in tomorrow. I still like my boat and I am looking forward to getting back on the water. I am a wiser man today that I was yesterday - and so are you now!
