Could I request advice on my options for maintaining a pair of Cat C18's outside of using Finnings?
I'm led to believe they are much simpler than the VP D6's I've had in my previous boats and aren't closed protocol like VP.
I've had a quote from Finnings which isn't horrendous, but then doesn't include impellers or belts, so really is just a load of oil, filters and an engineer, I thought impellers were pretty much an annual replacement requirement, or they were with all my previous VP engines?

Is there a Cat style Volvopaul out there I could use instead?

+1 for finding a fairly priced and experienced CAT marine alternative along the S-Coast - I like Finnings' professionalism etc, less so their pricing.

Ahh, CAT Engines.
Ooops.

VolvoPaul and Tom Parker (Tompa Marine) will maintain Cats. There is a maintenance item, valve clearance, that must be done by Finnings (I believe, due to a special tool), everything else is straightforward for a decent Techie.
