The above needs replacing. Recons from Caterpillar or brand new??? Recons are less than half the price of new so seem the obvious choice.

Had to pinch myself when I saw this.....As Volvopaul says, pump is a Jabsco 6400-1051 totally re-buildable, who says it needs replacing??
Proper Admiralty bronze body, well designed, John Crane seals, genuine Jabsco overhaul kits cheap as chips.
Last time I priced a Jabsco 6400 up for 3208 it was about $550 new, why would you you want to put a dime in CAT's pocket and feed the food chain? I think CAT Re-Con pumps re-built by Depco Pump Co who are Jabsco agent and are a quality outfit, however why bother.
As to purchasing new from CAT, forget the pump and sack the numpty tec who cannot carry out a simple overhaul!

In addition to Jabsco some later 3208 ratings have Sherwood 176X Series pumps equivalent to 7E-4115.
Nowhere near as rebuild-able as Jabsco but either was new pump from ASAP Supplies is around £750 and major overhaul kit around £300, if tec is up to the job.

My Cat 3126's have Sherwood pumps. Had a leaking seal earlier in the year, fixed for £300 ish. Tempted to source in the States in the future.
