Cassens & Plath Part Weakness

Cassens and Plath sextant users - any experience with weakness of the two plastic parts that form the index arm release trigger and the thumb rest (parts 84 and 64)? It apears that it is a known problem but I am not sure what is being done to rectify this.

Update

Got responses from several dealers abroad now. A large one says this happens a lot possibly due to over tightening of screws that cause the parts to split. Any user's experience will be apreciated.
