Carrick Roads

Be aware of the 8 knot speed limit up river of Turnaware Bar.
Mooring and anchoring is charged north of Turnaware Bar.
Speed limit inside St Mawes entrance (marked yellow buoys).
Fast lane for skiing etc is on the eastern side of Carrick Roads, south of St Just in Roseland entrance.
I'll be out there Sunday. We're 23ft mobo red & white hull, give us a wave!

well the fog yesterday afternoon was a surprise!
And a rib sank a yacht here ysterday...(allegedly)
Just keep a good look out for lobster pots, and they can be a LONG way offshore!
The easiest bit of water is right opposite Mylor.. come out of the fairway, and directly opposite you on that headland.
The Fal is very beautiful, so you should do that in the sun.
If the sea is flat, then go east out past the lighthouse for a few miles towards Portscatho and a fine sandy beach, Porthcurnic.
Or turn west for Maenporth, or a bit further towards Helford - which gets very shallow I found! BTW on the west entrance to the Helford is a slightly hidden entrance to Flushing (not the Falmouth Flushing!), which has a nice anchorage.
From Mylor the next creek up has the waterside pub with pontoon, but maybe lunchtime will suit tides more next week.
We ll probably head east again Monday, so we ll probably miss you.
