Caribbean island to island charter

Has anyone managed to charter in one island and return to a base on another?

It should be possible, but the charter company are very likely to charge you for the delivery skipper + crew + their flights + expenses etc etc to get the boat back to the original base. I know this because I skippered a few "return to base" deliveries. It was a great gig and topped up my cruising kitty very nicely, thank you.

Checked it out with Sunsail and they would charge for skipper and fuel to deliver back to starting point.

I think you need to ask a few more questions eg

• Skipper's flight costs (my flights were paid by Sunsail or Moorings)
• Are the delivery days added to your initial charter fee
• Diesel (sailing to a schedule consumes plenty of fuel - the boat has to be back in time for the next charter booking)
• Crew provisions
• Insurance
• Sundry expenses eg Skipper's taxi fare
