Car batteries

No I haven't got it sorted yet. And no I haven't picked up the phone yet.

I have tried 3 on line suppliers, all come up with a battery at a sensible price, all fail when I enter my address and an email to them to query how I can proceed and place an order when it says it "doesn't recognise" my postcode have gone un answered.

Battery Megastore even noticed I had something left in my basket and sent me a discount code to encourage me to proceed and place an order, but that does not make it accept my order.

I will be going to Inverness soon so will see how I get on there.

I wouldn't be surprised if a motorfactor in Inverness tells you 'we could have got one for you, if you'd given us a day's notice'.
Nobody much holds much stock of anything much any more, unless it's for a Ford Focus, it will 'often come from a warehouse/wholesaler/ another branch.
Although even in a small English town, retailers and garages can often get stuff in a couple of hours,
I would try a chain like eurocarparts and click and collect, if they operate beyond the Midlands.

I've had batteries from Tayna before, if they deliver to Skye then surely they'll deliver round your direction.

I've had good service from Tanya in the past but never surprised when companies have problems delivering. Friends in Argyll pay a fortune to get things delivered. I had a problem getting something of modest weight and size delivered because they didn't deliver to my post code. I live half-way between Glasgow and Edinburgh and and under 3 miles from the M9, hardly the back of beyond. It didn't help when I phoned. Another firm wouldn't deliver to my home because it wasn't a business address. They said the lorry might not be able to get access. My neighbour took delivery as he runs his company from home and often has large loads delivered. I was just getting a medium sized parcel but wondered if they were like Amazon an going to pack it in a something capable of holding a small car.

You should be able to get a start battery and pretty much anything with decent CCA, correct terminals in the correct orientation will do.

AGM would only be useful if you regularly capsize your Landy. :D:D (Lot of off-road and dodgy driving planned?:D:D)
