CAPTAIN\'S LOG?

I seem to remember a little while ago a bit in the YM about it becoming mandatory for ALL sailors to keep a voyage "plan" and a "log" Whether day tripping or channel crossing etc. If I remember correctly this was announced by the IMO and to be monitored/enforced by theMCA. this was to be effect from 1 st July 2002. Did dream this?as every one I'v spoken to has never heard of it! I know its good practice to have a plan and an up to date log but for a trip around the bay?????????

Fair winds to you all

No you didn't dream it.....do a search on Solas V, passage plans, MCA/098, MCA/099, radar reflectors, pumps etc and you'll see a whole bunch of threads on the subject. contact MCA on 0115 901 3336 or email mca@promo-solutions.com for the MCA 098 and 099 leaflets

<font color=white> <g> you raggies, know nothing about rules and regulations of sailing, and will still cut under my bow when motor sailing and complain about the wash! ;-) <font color=white>
