Re: Captain O\'Neil

Nope, unless he goes by name of DFL...

Byron, sorry to go off @ tangent but can you provide URLs of sailing newsgroups you wd recommend? I've searched for some a few times and there are many but apart from some specialised/obscure stuff I've never found that many good ones. Also in interests of time I'd be interested in BBs that have good functionality as well as content, eg this ybw stuff is running very well now IMHO, whereas voy.com/27508 is way too clunky. Thanks.

Re: other site and of course fred driftiing

There's a couple of US ones sort of worth dipping into. But I think this is the best (Kim, please send Balvennie to home address).

All start of course www. then;
boatered.com
boatus.com
yachtsurvey.com
boatdiesel.com.

Still looking for solly.com

You mean Capt. Neal?

Often referred to as the Crapton? Sounds like the same bloke. Used to hang out on alt.sailing.asa I believe. Quite an entertaining pain in the neck.

Re: You mean Capt. Neal?

Thats the guy. It always amused me how people bit at his quite obvious trawls. In reality he is a very accomplished yachtsman, so I was told by someone who knew him. If he came in here he would certainly liven things up but I am told he is in demand in so many newsgroups he can't manage any more.
