I am not inviting the Cliques or Robin or anyone to argue / whine / start another debate about rights and wrongs ....

All I am asking is that Lounge is Lounge ..... Reader to Reader is R 2 R ...... Scuttlebutt is Scuttlebutt ....

So can we all stop biting at each other and get back to biz ????

YBW is providing a facility for FREE .... please do not abuse or mis-use it .......... they have put description of use for each forum on the front Forum page .... take mind of it and of course we all wander a bit from it now and agin ... but lets keep it in mind ...

I come here to look, listen and hopefully learn!! I am affraid when all this drivel and back biteing takes place I dissapear for days on end, hopefully returning when the storm has blown through!!

I realise that my response may not be helpful but there still seems to be some debate here despite the fact that the bell went some time ago. Its just a periodic thing that happens - if I was going to be 'cutting' which really isn't my style - its interesting that quite often the people who contribute to this style of thread are not particularly 'regular' contributors - even though it may say regular under their username. Perhaps it is worth remembering that to influence a forum's direction through participation is often a more positive and ultimately satisfying way of ensuring outcomes rather than just periodically joining in with the critical threads. Of course it is a free forum and as such people are fully entitled to just read if they so choose - but I fear the consequences of such passive participation are that occasionally they will become dissatisfied with content - which always leads to a rash of 'fings aint wot they use to be so I'm orf' posts.
Anyway - its been a grand weekend in which the village bonfire didn't set fire to the village hall, the cats are relaxed now that the fireworks seem to have abated, the gutters are leaf free once more, Dear Heart realises that I do care about our home as well as the blasted boat and I'm now eager for the challenge of the workng week once more

No - just annoyed that threads generate such hostility and nonsense that is not necessary on these excellent forums ....

I don't care if a poster is a newbie or oldie ... all have a right to say what they want - but I would like to see ..... and I believe that many others agree .... a degree of conformity to forum spec's .... That doen't mean to censure or not post funnies / comments etc. etc. - but to do it where it's fitting ...

Scuttlebutt seems to have become in many ways a second Lounge ... which is definitely not needed. As I recall Lounge was created to direct that sort of stuff away from the R2R / SB forums - not to increase it !!

Fizz .... bang ..... wallop ..... another fuse gone !!!

Setting yourself up as an arbiter of good taste and yachtiness is odd coming from someone who thinks it acceptable to post sex toursism links in the Lounge. Sleazy.
