Here too speed is over the ground and in km/h. though they do try to keep the water flow down to less than 3km/h but it can be more.

I'm wondering what your all up weight is on that setup.
I'm looking at adding a 9.8hp Tohatsu (26kg) to a 34kg AB UL, plus the two of us at around 130kg. So 190kg plus fuel tank and any other gear carried.
If your motor is a 4 stroke, and your dinghy is a bit heavier, then it starts to add up to a meaningful weight difference.

But I might be clutching at straws here.

Rule of thumb is 5hp per adult. The heavier Caribe 9ft lite grp rib with a Tohatsu 9.8hp would easily plane with two of us onboard. We did have a large planing plate fitted that help climb onto the plane and keep it there at low speed. I later swapped to a Yam Enduro 15hp so we could carry our dive gear. That wasn't possible with the 9.8hp.
