Can I drill a hole in a stainless fuel tank?

Have you got an inspection hatch in the top of the tank?If so remove one of the screws,cut a few pieces of good straight grained wood that will just go thro, the threaded hole and you,ve got a dipstick.You may be able to buy some dowelling thin enough.Wood is best as you can see the level.Unless you get a piece of steel rod get it red hot and pour oil on it this will give you a finish that you will be able to see the fuel level.Put a fibre washer when you replace screw for next time.

Unless you know something I dont know, you cannot measure fuel quantity with 2 horizontal holes...

I think you mean two horizontal holes in a vertical line.

yeah, my son just had to cut a massive hole for an inspection hatch.he and I are firemen so we know flashpoints etc. no probs, hi speed driil bit, plenty oil,low speed, bobs your uncle
