can also depend on filtering and attachments, these can get canned by some ISPs as they may think it;s spam. Also if yours or any other relay / mail server goes down then who knows what happens. Some mail comes back as undeliverable after 4 days.

Pitty email doesn't have recorded delivery or next day by 9am /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Yes, all the time
Had a big problem recently on one of the forums I run, from people on Freeserve trying to email people on AOL.

AOL has been refusing to receive emails from a range of IP addresses that they have seen spam mail coming from, and just barred the entire range. Stupid, and was only when individuals sent me copies of the mails I could work out what was going on.

Still not entirely resolved, as AOL don't seem to want to provide any customer support on the issue

Hi just read all replies thanks, with Brendan it was AOL barring them so not "lost" as such, my email is through Yahoo and they have an automatic filter whichs puts all crap unsolicited stuff in a bulk folder for me to choose wether I view it.

No I have to say this is most unusual for me not to get my email through this source. By the way I went onto my other yahoo address (my company one) and sent a test email to myself and it worked ok, plus I've been receiving others.

Will have to be patient then it will all arrive at once and use up my limit I expect.

Being on AOL I had the problem of not receiving e-mails from a friend. I discovered that ALL emails from Virgin were barred as spam.

I can only preume that this is because AOL is American run and the Americams are prissy about Virgins! I'm amazed that they let Branson land in their country.
