Can anyone recommend a sail maker near the West Midlands?

I'm looking for someone to repair a small tear in my mainsail. The only trouble is that I live in the West Midlands and I'm not sure (being so far from the coast) if there is anyone who deals with sails around here.

The boat is in Cardiff but I thought that it would be easier having the job done local to where I live so that I can deliver and collect much easier.

Thanks for that - I just called them but they said that they don't deal with sails anymore. Looking on google I think they do microlight 'wings' now.

Go to the noble marine insurance website.
They have a good index of repairers which will find the nearest ones!

depends where you are in the west mids... if its useful geography wise, there is a loft at Kettering called Cygnus, who are very good....

Purple Marine closed their shop some time ago. I think they have started again as mail order but I am not sure. Speed Sails in Aldridge, Walsall have a small loft as they specialise in dinghy equipment and sails.

Purple Marine, the (ex) chandlers here in Walsall went down the tube a while back.

Purple Sails were utilising the warehouse but had to move out. They have now struck out on their own and have a loft in the Hams Hall area.

Can PM you Jim Hunt's contact details if required, but think the old Purple Marine link works.

Thanks for that. I did speak to Bob (having found the 'Sugget Sails' details on the website suggested earlier). I shall be popping over to him next week. The post code you have given is slightly different to the one on that website, however I know of the trading estate in question and can find it OK.
