Can anyone identify the boat?

I dont know the manufacturers name of my boat! There are no markings of any description inside or out, to identify the make or model.

Long story short.... I bought this boat back in 1993. Originally it came with a 50 hp mercury but I subsequently replaced it with a 65hp Suzuki..

It gave years of trouble free service and was a real fast & fun boat. Always started first time, never let me down, but it has been laid up for the past 5-6 years due to other commitments.

Recently I decided to revive it and start using it again. I've just finished building a new trailer for it, and now I've started work on the engine... most likely it will be a winter project. Nothing major found so far. Good compression but wont idle or rev out so the carbs are coming off for a good cleaning...

Anyway, if any of you good people can identify this boat, please enlighten me!!!

I guess there is no hull number on it? If there is it will contain a manufacturer code as part of the number.

Not that I can find Jim. There are a pair of small holes in the transom well where it appears there may have been a manufacturers plate attached at one time, but its long gone I'm afraid.

Looks like an old Picton 14 ... the one in the photo is missing it's windscreen , but looks the same.

They still exist , might be worth dropping them a line ?

Not yet Warpa! Thanks for your comments but I haven't really started yet. Apart from the new trailer, I haven't really done anything but powerwash it! Besides.. the trailer was more of a necessity than anything else. The previous trailer rotted and pretty much fell away beneath the boat! There are lots of dings and scrapes on the hull that don't show up on the photos.

No, I have my work cut out for me. The engine runs but only just so that will be my winter project this year....

If you are going to take a homebuilt trailer on the open road, you might want to have a look at some previous threads on the subject of plates for them. If you happen to get pulled over by an over enthusiastic traffic officer, they'll look for the plate or at least for relevant markings if unbraked, and often don't fully understand the law themselves. If braked, then up to 3500kg MAM, it won't need a plate.

That'll come up a treat with a compound polish and wax. Doesn't look like it's faded at all.
