Same here. I believe they are filled with 90% propane and 10% the farts of giant pandas
Eye watering! Thats why the first thing I did when we got our Jeanneau was to rip out the lovely moulded Gaz bottle holder and replace it with a much better fitting (for the space) ply and fiberglass box for two 3.9kg propane bottles which cost £15-£16 each. How much are people paying currently? I thought £25 at Port Ellen on Jura was steep!
If you have a 'Go Outdoors' a fiver annual card gets 20% discount (on everything)
Or, http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?291347-Calor-Gas-bottle-refilling etc. gives you a kit to refill for c. £3.50 a go with Calor. Propane works in winter and summer too. Roberto's post #2 forgets you need a LH thread ring which you can source from a scrap butane regulator. Everything else from Ebay for less than the cost of one Gaz refill including some optional luggage scales.
Obviously I'd never recommend such a thing or do it myself...
€11 in Greece...
But here they refill them at the local plant, instead of sending them back to CG.

DO NOT put propane into a Camping Gas bottle
Please explain-
Not much use on a night passage.Buy a 2 burner electrical hot plate (Carrefour approx. €45) and use instead of Gaz if electric is free or set charge per night.
