We've tried various combinations but can't get a flow through the calorifier. Any advice please?

Thanks, but that will be the last resort if we can't find the correct locations for the feed and return.

Has someone fitted an inline valve that needs turning on ?
I’ve often thought about adding one to our boat to stop thermal circulation while at rest.
You may just need to find it and turn it on.
Hopefully somewhere easy to get to near a hatch

I’m sure you will have already ruled this out but just in case.
As it heats from the engine coolant then the engine needs to be at working temperature for the engine thermostat to open fully to allow any flow.

Thanks but the take-offs are on the engine side of the thermostat so the calorifier starts warming as soon as the engine is started.

Those engines do get quite warm too, it was always a problem for us to keep the one in the truck cool enough, had to limit the speed to 50mph as anything over that it would get too hot, the driver of the truck managed to seize the engine when he was in a hurry to get home one weekend, took him a lot longer as he had to be taken on a low loader back north.
No experience of running a calofier off one though, no experience of having one in a boat either.
