Hi Robih,The latest version of the software for this unit is v 1.9.4. If you have an earlier version and fancy a software upgrade then give me a shout - I have the upgrade files and the methodology.
Hi John, yes, I do still have the s/w. The problem is that I need your email address to send the s/w over and because you’re new here we can’t private message so you’ll have to disclose your address on here so beware spambots. There is a clever facility to hide the details from spambots but I don’t know how to do it.Hi Robih,
I have a problem connecting the AI50 via NMEA200. Class B info seems to be missing. Maybe this will also be solved in the 1.9.4 version of the software?! Do you still have this?
Thanks John.

I always found with my AI50 integration to Seatalk that I couldn’t get class A targets to appear, class B was fine,
I would look at the settings on the plotter - does it have a page where a list of all AIS vessels are displayed, for example? Could there be a filter applied, to ignore boats over x miles away?Today I updated the AI50 with version 1.9.4 (from a 1.7 version). This did not solve the problem. The simrad itself does show all boats, but only the class B boats appear on the Axiom plotter.
The simrad and the plotter are connected by means of the NMEA2000 backbone. I could try it via the NMEA183 interface, but then i would have to invest in an actisense 183/2000 converter.
Does anyone have other ideas?
It was a very expensive fix, I don’t recommend it!Rob,
I saw you had the same problem with a RM element and bought a new boat to solve the problem. Never heard that excuse before ;-)
Hi,Hi Robin,
I have got a "new" boat. It has a Simrad AI50. But when I power it up the screen comes to white screen and a message that shows "boot failed. Any idea? It has the firmware 1.9. And I saw that you still have the newest one. Could you please send me the firmware files and instruction. Thanks from Kiel, Werner me mail stollergrund at gmail . com
John,I borrowed a actisense 138-2000 converter and that works fine with the AI50. All boats appear on the Raymarne Axiom screen. The NMEA 0183 interface of the Simrad is working fine, so the solution for me is buying a actisense converter. Problem solved.
I dont know if the software version 1.9 was part of the solution, but thanks anyway.
John
