I am trying to glean information about the history of my Hillyard 8 ton yacht "Flap" which is now sailed in the Clyde.
The harbourmaster at Ramsholt is fairly certain she was sold some 10 years ago by her original owner and spent some time at Woodbridge before heading North. Anyone know who had her in those years?
Prior to then she was kept on a swinging mooring at Walton on the Naze. She was built by Hillyards for Group Captain Ken Gatwood, who regularly took her to Belgium and Holland who specified an aft cockpit for an easier life single-handing.

Any info or leads would be welcome.

I fear I am about to be incredibly annoying!

I remember "Flap"; before buying "Mirelle" and moving to Woodbridge, twenty years ago, I sailed "Mytica" from Walton for twelve years.

But I am afraid that my memory has gone very vague; all I can honestly remember is "nice 8 ton Hillyard, well sailed, properly looked after". I don't remember ever speaking to her owner. Consequently, when she came to Woodbridge, I just thought, "Oh, there's "Flap"!" and thought no more about it.
