Calibrating Raymarine ST2000 tiller pilot

Yes that is possible, if the engine mass attracts the compass a little from turning then the boat may turn 100 deg but the compass only detects 90 deg. The results would be different for every heading.

And if it really did matter - then it would matter where you are as Variation changes with position .. and many areas have local magnetic anomaly anyway ..

I have never bothered with any of my tillerpilots and all seems well .... but if I did - I would pick a quiet spot ... check that no mention of Local Magnetic Anomaly ... and swing the boat round ....

Kiwi Decision has mentioned the mounting position. The ST 2000 is factory set for port side mounting.
In the manual there are simple instructions to reset the unit to starboard.


These units are factory set to be mounted on the Starboard side.
