I count 9 in the Skipper's Guide but the whole thing is fresh water and probably more wholesome than the chlorine smelling recovered urine that some in cities get from their taps.

In 60 miles! You drink it first. Then me, two days later.

No single handers. Though my crew is weak they gave a hand. Crew on other boat helped.

Ok, thanks for asking. Not good news. I wonder if this will change over the year.

Find it hard to understand the extra covid risk involved. Perhaps it is a cost cutting decision, in which case it wont change?

Just out of the canal. A bit slow due to the new bridge being built just before Inverness. Eg we were held up an afternoon and then the next morning to get through. And we went for a couple of nights hotel to get out of the cold. May seems not to be spring weather up here.

Mostly staff would help with ropes. Fort Augustus was the exception. Lot of staff standing around watching. If I was single handed I would pay someone to help for first locks then say they ran away ...

Water not always available where it is supposed to be.

They seem to be short of staff in sections which also slowed us down a bit. Dougie was driving back and forward on eastern section sorting us out. Lovely and helpful man.

Seaport marina a bit run down - moss on pontoons - but facilities good and clean. (Facilities throughout are good.) Nesting swan has 7 eggs under her at Seaport.

But no doubt it'll improve - that was their first week of opening.

Your experience at Fort Augustus is normal, perhaps there they are so much busier with so many hire cruisers that they just refuse to get involved. Did you get a gold star from Linda at Kytra?

No, just us and a fishing boat. They had tried the west coast but it was 'crap' and they were going home to Newcastle.

No stars. Staff very friendly whole way through. Maybe more strict supervisor at Fort Augustus.

A tax payer funded service where the customers are treated with disdain. Only in Scotland ‘s tourist industry.
