Caledonian Canal.

I have been trying to plan a return to the west coast through the Caledonian Canal from the North. The section of Scottish Canals website says the canal will be available for transit on the 6th of March, apparently not as bookings will only be able to be made from the 27th March. information following a 'phone call to Inverness office today. I have also tried to book a trip but there are no bookings available for any date in 2023.

The situation is hardly ideal for any East Coast boats, fishing boats and visitors from Scandinavia

when we tried to transit last summer, we had similar problems..
After finally contacting the office we were told that the website was not functioning correctly and they made a booking over the phone.

Current and projected works schedule 2023 - Scottish Canals

Looks like the new rail bridge at Banavie is having some maintenance. In my childhood it was hand operated. The new bridge was a huge advancement.
