Can anyone help. I want to put some life back into the cabin sole in my Cobra 850. I’d like a bit more grip than I have, as well. Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Yellow – why a yellow cabin sole you daft previous owner – did the same guy choose the colour as did the wiring, because he was definitely blind??)

You'll really need to describe how the cabin sole is contructed and what you're finding wrong with it before those that know can offer some pertinent advice...

Regards, Jeff.

I picked up some vinyl stuff cheap that was industrial quality with non slip stuff embedded in it. Cost me £15 for enough for a 26 footer. Sniff around the remnants on the local trading estate.
Alternatively - with the thinner vinyl you can use a hot air gun to soften it on the edges so that it wraps around onto the underneath.
Or..... but need more details
solefully yours...spuddy

My Cobra 850 has got carpet squares - well fitted by the previous owner. OK but a pain when you want to look in the shallow bilge under the cabin sole.

Mines also got dodgy lectrics - bet mines worse than yours - slowly tracing them all and ripping out all the ones that do n't do anything so I can replace the ones that do.

Me too. I got an offcut of vinyl from B&Q for £10. It may not sound very boaty but it has a non-slip surface (even when wet) and it looks very good.

Fit a cheap carpet remnant, but NOT the rubber backed type, get the type which has a wrinkled back which is slip resistant & waterproof. Cut to size, when dirty just pressure wash(it comes up like new!) replace when really grotty. About £10 a go for my 27'.

The cabin sole is (I think) simply glass fibre with the horrendous yellow paint on it. I like the sound of the cheap industrial stuff though !!!!

Any more thoughts, please let me know.

Charlie.

Jeff,
I dont know if this is any help, the cabin sole is made of (I think) fibre glass plus the dodgy paint. I want to make it look good (a cream ish colour), and also make it hardwearing and grippy.

I bet this is of no help to you in helping me, but fingers crossed....

Charlie.

Funny thing

I once nearly bought a Cobra 1050.

Would have done except cabin floor had been painted a really ofensive shade of blue I just couldn't have lived with.

Is there something about Cobra owners?
