I am going to paint inside the vee berth area of my Kestrel and am wondering if anyone can suggest a suitable low odour paint to go directly onto the glass fibre cabin roof and sides?? There is some (dead) mould ingrained in the 'glass and it looks generally tatty. Thanks all........

if the grp has never been painted it will have a thin skin of wax which results from the curing process. you'll need to use a degreaser to get it off or the paint will peel quite quickly.

once you've done that, domestic paint works well, gloss or even emulsion!

I agree, a good quality vinyl silk will do the job and wipe clean during the season i usually keep a small "tester" pot on board for any touch ups required.

I would use a low odour oil base eggshell paint, degrease the area and apply with mini sponge roller, it will be a much better and more durable finish, requiring little maintenance, you can use Cif ( jif) to clean any marks off, eggshell also covers very well!
