Don't know about anybody else - but I come back from my summer cruise to find the forum is a complete dog's dinner - nothing like it was before - screen all over the place - the number of posts I can view is miniscule and wouldn't change when I tried to edit my options.

I'm off to pastures new. Anyone want to buy a scuttlebut burgee ? - I won't be needing mine any more. Oh and don't use the forum to contact me - as I won't be using it!

You can get me through the web site in my profile, which I guess I will leave around for a while

Bye

perhaps hang around a bit before you jump ship ? The new forum is evolving almost day by day, and even the most ancient technophobes have come to terms with many of the new functions.

It's different, not dead.

*yawn* you're not the first to stamp their feet and moan about not coming back. The rest of us are getting on with it, finding ways to overcome problems and make the forum as good (if not better) as it ever was.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out

I thought that when I first looked in a few days ago. But have now got used to it and find that it's just different (certainly not worse ) and needs some getting used too. Persevere - you never know-like so many changes in the world- it may grow on you.

Whatever...

Imagine a bucket of water. Now visualise putting your hand in the water. Take it out. See the hole you've left? That's how much you'll be missed if you go.

How anyone can throw their teddies out the pram and flounce off in a hiuff 'cos the forum's changed, beats me.

It's only a chat forum for heavens sake, get some perspective.

Yes I see I am not the only one underwhelmed by moaning minnies. My daughter used to have the same reaction when things went wrong in her early teens. "I'm not playing anymore....boo hoo sulk stamp feet etc" If you are going, just bloody go, see if I care!
So far I think the new forum is a definite improvement once you get the hang of it. It's different, but hey nothing in life ever stays the same and progress always causes complaints from someone. Get a life!

Constant change is here to stay

I have been away and was quite frustrated when I returned to the forum ... but only for a little while. It's different that's all. It remembered me, it seems to work, most of the stalwarts (?) seem to be still hanging around.

Life is changing all the time and this forum is only a tiny little fraction of the whole ... wow! deep man! ... hello? ..... Oh, that's right, you're not reading this anyway!

I think it is a lot better than what it was, It was all over the place before it got changed and advertising banners were always blocking out the posts on the right hand side!!

Big improvement IMO

My dog has taken to living under the new settee since the forum changed.

I use these forums (or forae) cos of the people on them, I've met many people that I now count as friends through here as well as having many a larf and lots of free good advice .. I'm certainly not going to impoverish my life cos of a bit of unfamiliar software.

Come on jstr, it a forum, a place to chat, to learn, to exchange, to take the micky, to have the micky taken. What it isnt is a life support system.

Bye Bye for now, but as others have said, you wont be missed, cos you'll be back.

New forum

This "New"format is actually the same as three other forums I participate in so for me it was easy to use.Now if you want to see a forum that changed from an easy to use format to a very unfriendly user style try looking at :service pals".com!

This forum is much better than the old one! At last posts with new replies go to the top of the forum so you can bump your own posts back to the top
