Having played about on a good friends boat last year and spent a silly amount of money on a property in spain, I'm about to take the plunge and buy. I quite fancy an older model Sunseeker the 'Apache'. it suits me as a single cabin with lots of deck space and a bit of umpph! but cant find any reports - boat tests- or feedback. has anyone got any firsthand knowledge??? also is 5 days realistic for competence training and ICC? the boat will be kept on the costa del sol and used throughout the summer for lazy day trips, any stopovers will be in port with me firmly lodged in a decent hotel. Any advise?

Sunseekers generally have excellent hulls but steer clear of the petrol engined models as the fuel consumption and cost of fuel even in the Med will make your eyes water so go for diesel. They'll cost a bit more but then they'll sell easier when you want rid
Regarding training, you have our very own Suncoast on your doorstep in the Costa del Sol so send him a PM or look on his website

Welcome to the forum.
Im based on the Costa Blanca. I spent a fair bit of time up & down the coast looking, making discreet enquiries & studying the form before I bought. I know where there are 1 or 2 worth the money boats, but not sunseekers. & would be happy to tell you where they are. As for the ICC test, length of course depends on your ability. but one things for sure the Spanish are really clamping down on people who dont hold one so its very important to get one, otherwise a large fine & boat siezure may be imposed.
As other members have said contact Suncoast Im sure he will only give you sound advise. He will also be able to help you with your ICC
