'Shortly before he was killed, Lance Venn, a former fisherman, had bought a boat, although they already had four in the yard, indicating his worsening condition.'

This was among the evidence a court heard in a tragic case reported in the paper about a woman who has just been convicted of manslaughter in Australia, after killing her mentally unstable husband when she reached the end of her tether.

You have been warned! ;)

It is a great story...and when I read it to the wife...she chillingly said, ‘that’s what happens....’

The Christadelphian community can be a harsh place. My late wife’s family are big in it and we attended for over 30 years. Some people are lovely but some get caught up in the politics of power and see themselves as arbitrators of the greater power. That’s usually when not-so-nice-things happen. And usually to others not themselves.

I can understand why the wife felt that an exit for them both was needed. Although, to be clear I don’t condone her conclusion about methods. As said earlier, it’s a sad story.

A very sad story, on the basis of the facts reported I hope the wife is released very soon in order to enjoy whatever years she has left herself - free of the burden she‘s been living under up to now, what purpose would a custodial sentence serve?

True..but what if it enshrines into law that buying four boats is an act of madness ?... and gives the wife grounds to terminate your position
