I am considering buying a Hunter Delta 25
For family sailing at weekends and single handed trips. (at the moment I have a small family!)
I like the idea of minimum draft (12") for creek crawling with family, plus a decent sailing performance.
Am I looking at the right boat ?
If so, what problems/faults on the Hunter should I be looking for.

Check out the posts on Hunter Horizon 26. more or less the same hull.

No big problems with them. Worth having the lifting keel checked out as they suffer from a lack of maintinence. (Out of sight so out of mind). Also check the cast fitting for the spreader routes. Check for hairline cracks. Not a difficult job to cange the fitting if you need to though.

Preformance is good. A friend of mine has seen double figures on the log surfing downwind on a bit of breeze.

Seal-surfer asked the same sort of questions about 3 weeks ago. I have therefore sent you copies of the PMs extolling the virtues of the Delta which I sent to him. Contact me again if you want any more specific info.

I built a Hunter Delta and sailed it for over 10 years before starting the process all over again with the Hunter Channel 32. The Delta is superb with the lifting keel giving both performance sailing and the ability to creep up creeks et al.

Enjoy
