I did a mad thing yesterday and bought a boat on ebay using Buy It Now..
It had only been on for 3 hours but was just what I was looking for and I've been pretty disappointed by boats I'd been to see. It's just for pottering about.
Collected it today. Just the boat with trailer. Original gel coat.

What do think it cost?

£310.14p. I think you're 'avin a larf. It's 15 ft

It's for mooching about.
This year sailing has generally consisted of motoring to different parts of the lake on the promise of some breeze, only to be disappointed.
Or fighting the helm and trying to stay in the boat.

I am making other arrangements for sailing experiences.

You been done .... There is no mast, boom or rigging with it. I bet there are no sails either.

It'll cost more than its worth to get it fitted out.

I'll give you a fiver to keep it in the shed

How much will you give me for not offering you my old air cooled 5hp Volvo Penta VP51. Must be worth a lot more than a fiver not to have it.

IIRC it cost me about £600 to stop using it!

PS Might be able to get you one of these

New boat

Congratulations Phil. I know you love buying and fixing up boats. Yes it is a pity it doesn't have sails but then you also need wind. Sailing experiences else where. Come down and see me I will give you lots of sailing experience. (did I mention 24 hrs in plane and mountains of pounds needed due to rise in Oz dollar value) No rain no risk. Says he, on the morning of opening season with rain forecast. I am sailing regardless I hope) olewill
PS I understand UK are having a nice weekend. 29.9 degrees on Sat. good

That's the price. I've looked at a few boats about this size and they all have some "history". Usually repainted and tarted up for sale. Often with an outboard that they claim to have paid £zillion for a year ago. When you get there they are peeling, scratched and rusty with oil spewing out. (engine, not vendor)

This boat is original gelcoat. It's had a hardwood and aluminium keel band fitted by the owner, who is a furniture maker.

I'm looking around for a 4-6hp 4 stroke. It's displacement and to be used on the lake so that'll be more than adequate. I do have a Tohatsu 3hp 2-stroke handy which will be ample, but has no gears (the very early ones had no neutral.) So I'm in no desparate hurry to get a motor. One with remotes would be handy.

Engines

You really fingered that one for £400, well done. But it looks like you will need two engines..

Should make a nice tender!
