buster keaton

Ah, yes, the Imperial Yachting Society's training video. I remember it well.

Nice one Dylan, I love the new generation anchor....

I get the feeling the plot was written by someone with considerable small-boat experience...a great number of real hiccups and problems are reflected here, even in fun...

...unlike most modern sailing movies, which taking whopping liberties with how a sailing vessel operates and behaves, without even intending to be laughable...and thus they fail to use the real dynamics of sailing as plot-corners or as a means to add flavour and verisimilitude. Typically they're written by twits who have only commanded a laptop in a coffee-shop.

The Keaton film is brilliant stuff. What year was that?

Why are you not out sailing?

Work. All day, every day of the week lately. Stole a couple of hours today to put my centreboard back in its case, sort some rigging and refit my repaired rudder. It looks awful and it's a long way from perfect, but it'll have to do...
