Burton waters overheat issues ????

When you say BW were advised all the time, that does not tally with the email that you've removed from your original post. They said that they made a number of visits to rectify the issue and heard no more from you since last July. Its unfortunate that you were unable to get a proper run in last summer - I know the weather was a bit crap.

Your 100% correct but at the end of the day the issue was never found nor fixed as I wouldn't be having ongoing issues since there last visit and was assured it was rectified.

For an engineer to say that a hardened pipe was definitely like that a year ago concerns me. The service interval on legs is yearly for a reason, things deteriorate over 12 months.

Hardening of a pipe will have nothing to do with use, it is age related. To what extent was the pipe hardened 12 months ago? We will never know. Some faults do not increase with age and so you can go back after the event and argue your corner. On this occasion I think you will struggle.

Given you have to service the drive anyway as you've had the boat for a year I wonder if there's a compromise whereby Burton Waters contribute towards or cover the price of the pipe, you cover the labour as you were having the legs serviced anyway?

I thought this was sorted out last summer, I'm assuming you have now been out to play as it the beginning of the season and she's still overheating. Now an overheat is 100 deg C and the alarm on, is this the case or are we just talking temp at full throttle being 95/98 deg C?

I'm afraid that this scenario is always a buyer has to be aware of when buying a boat that you cannot fully sea trial at full throttle due to its location inland whereby no engineer can sign any engine off as 100% good to use without any problems.
I always state this when I'm doing engine and drive surveys at BW, 300yards flat out on The Fosdyke proves very little wh n you start to use the boat as it should be used at sea. Sorry to hear this is spoil in the show for you Simon. I doubt after 10 months you will get anywhere but if you do it would be comforting for any future buyer from BW that they look after you on this occasion.

Cheers Paul,

Always was a concern form when they advised they had fixed the issue. As no fault was ever found your 100% correct when buying from bw you can't trial a boat as its expected to be used at sea.
Hopefully I'll get a result as in my opinion this was an issue I reported from delivery and was never found nor fixed correctly.
