Now I absolutely love our little leccy outboard. Almost silent and does the job more than adequately with the tide or at slack but...having been caught out by the flood tide yesterday (well not really caught out coz I knew it was coming...my bad!) and ending up getting a tow back to The Jolly, I've decided to invest in a little recon 2 stroke 2hp o/b for Bob.
So...popped into Bursledon outboards at the Cabin boatyard and after the service and help I got there, I have to give them a mention on here coz they were great! Nothing was too much trouble for them at all.
Key for me was weight and ease of starting coz I'm a bit of a lightweight on that score tbh. The guy there (Steve) took me through every detail including how to run it down at the end of play so I could lay it down with no leaks. They even stuck it in a tub so I could start it.
Now I had no intention of buying an o/b there and then, just wanted to ask a bit of advice but after that level of friendly, helpful service...I went ahead and bought it. (haven't told Chris yet
)
Very happy bunny and credit where credit's due.
