Am looking to fly some bunting from masthead down to deck, port & stbd, all the time my boat is at its swinging mooring, to try and deter the seagulls and cormorants which seem to think its a great roost and toilet. The hot weather this summer has made clearing up their mess from the decks very difficult.

Can someone please recommend some suitable bunting. There is a big choice on amazon, ebay... but am concerned that much of it is only suitable for occasional uses and not designed to be out in all weathers for months on end.

Whatever bunting you choose to use, add a good second piece of rope from each halyard back to the deck so that when the bunting snaps you will still be able to retrieve the halyards...

I wonder if something like this (note the ybw burgee under the big black flag)....

Really would keep these at bay...

They even sit on windex, shrouds and the backstay..

I do wonder each year about painting some of the odd slippy stuff that they don't like to stand on, onto the top surfaces of everything at the masthead.

Apologies for not answering the actual question.
