Does anyone out there know the make and number of replacement filters for a Bukh DV24. The original Bukh part numbers are :
Oil Filter 610 J 0050
Diesel filter 610 D 0201

The oil filter cross-references to a Crossland 2022 or a 691 depending on level of filtration wanted but any ideas for the diesel filter? (apart from taking another mortgage out and buying genuine Bukh replacements)

Hi Cliff again!

A mini oooops! These numbers are for the 20hp, though I'm sure my friend uses the same for his 36. Might be worth checking that the Bukh ref. numbers are the same first.

Cheers

Gee thanks for the list - I will get my lad to cross check the details but looks good.

The DV 10, DV20 and DV24 do use the same filters as far as I know.

Definitely can't pay Bukh prices - lived in Scotland too long and something has rubbed off on me.

Just a thought...

It's the diesel filter you really want info for, isn't it? If it's a spin-on type, I reckon it's the same as the one Volvo use (their part number 829913). Their filter is a Bosch part (same number I think) which doesn't have a drain plug. But if you have a prefilter (as every boat should) that won't worry you. Can't remember how much the last one I bought was, but probably a lot less than £18.

Re: Just another thought...

With that huge list of equivalents, any half decent motor factor should be able to source the filters for you at a cost of about £3-£4 each - especially if you buy more than one - you do change your oil twice a year don't you???? I buy five or more at a time and get a better price, 5 x 4 filters (primary fuel, secondary fuel, engine oil and air filter). It make the order qualify for trade prices, or at least a decent discount.

I'm sure you'll find a decent factor near you, else PM me for a factor who have always helped me.

Re: Just another thought...

Morning True Blue!

You are quite correct, I buy all of my filters from the local motor (car) factors and they are a mere fraction of the Engine Manu's price. And yes, like you I buy five of each at a time along with those for the CAV296 pre-filter, though only get a small discount because they're so cheap anyway! £3.00-£8.00 each covers all the different types I need.

My list earlier in the post is definitely NOT all the makes that are available for the Bukh equivalent, though I guess many are manu'd by the same outfit and just 'badged'.

Personally I tend to get the Fram filters which I've used for years but, as I say, I doubt if there's much to choose between the reputable manu's and I change them regularly anyway. Only had one filter block in over 32 years so must be doing something right!

Good sailing!

These numbers are for the 20hp, though I'm sure my friend uses the same for his 36. Might be worth checking that the Bukh ref. numbers are the same first.

The specified Oil Filter for the DV36 (and DV48) is different from that for the DV10/20 etc, but the Fuel Filters are the same. Unfortunately I haven't found common equivalents for the DV36 oil filter (whereas that for the DV10/20 has dozens - they're fitted to everything from Ferraris to dump trucks!).

The following lists tally, as far as I can see, with the DV20 and DV36 Parts Manuals, some Bukh parts suppliers' websites, the info others have posted above, and the search facility here How To Use This Site : In-Line Filters, UK's Leading Filter Specialists .

DV10/20/24/29/32/36/48 Fuel Filter*
1. Bukh 610D0201
2. Crossland 5005
3. Fram P4250
4. Bosch 4099
(*Note that some (earlier? pre-1982?) DV10/20s (and possibly other models?) had a separate internal 'exposed' fuel filter element (Bukh 610D0053) to replace, while the body/container was retained.)

DV10/20/24/29/32 Oil Filter
1. Bukh 610J0050
2. Crossland 691
3. Fram PH 46
4. Wipac CA 130
5. TJ FB 5311
6. Motorcraft EFL 84
7. Unipart GFE 240
8. Purolator PC 201
9. Coopers COO 285
10. Mann and Hummel W7 12/6
(note there are very many more equivalents to this type)

DV36/48 Oil Filter
1. Bukh 610J0200
2. SF Schupp SP4370
3. Inline Filters FINFL70146
4. Inline Filters FIN-FL70146
5. Inline Filters FL70146
