As a few of you may be aware we made a big decision this time last year to move away from Fairlines, ( not for any negative reason) and go down the path of buying an aft cabin boat which I had always longed for, after many trips to yards and much research we placed an order for a new Broom 370, and took delivery of her a few days ago, she was completely hand built in the Broom yard up in Norfolk and it is the first boat which we have purchased that was not " stock" so we got to do the whole start to finish thing was managed with precision and professionalism throughout the lengthy process.

As part of the contract we agreed that the boat could be displayed at the Southampton show, and following a snagging check we took delivery thereafter.

The purpose of this note is just to say thank you to the Broom guys for there complete focus on achieving excellence last week re the snag list, what a lovely bunch of guys, it was the same team that built her and they travelled down to Southampton en mass to get the minor jobs done, so we could then get cracking and get out to sea and get some hours on her, thanks again

Paul & Angie

Hi Rafiki

that's a fair shout, I was useless with that, took all the pics, but never got around to it, just wanted to give the Broom guys a pat on the back as they were ace

Thanks Lisa for your kind words , it was a long journey but well worth it, I know you have a lovely boat, but if you ever do think of changing do look at aft cabin boats they suit our climate very well. To answer your question we clocked up eight hours last weekend, and plan to go to Weymouth over the next few days as we love it there. Hope you are all well

Angie is here and say's hi!!

did you ever get around to do the London / Thames trip I recall that you were keen on the idea, I did it back in late March and it was good, and interesting

Yaaay Angie!!! xx
Haven't done it as yet Paul, no but it's still very much on the 'to do' list and hoping to enlist Juls for that one. We're hoping to get to the Isles of Scilly next year if the weather's kind enough.

Superb news and congratulations. I hope you have much fun and merriment on board :)

I'm sure you can manage one picture of her though? Where will she be based? Swanwick I'm guessing from Lisa's words?

Hi Paultallett, thanks for the nice note, we have been in Swanwick since FY 10, but looking at new locations now based on South Coast, just fancy a change, plus my son does not have a lot to do there, pic on its way soon

Paul congratulations on the new machine. Yes please post a few pictures of the build and the finished ship when you get he time. I visited Broom in Brundall a few times during the build of my previous boat - nice place/yard/people

Paul, is there a prize?
I may well be there at the weekend on the Atlantic 42 on the end of D pontoon so can always drop by and collect it!
Good luck with her, a good choice of boat with space a plenty. Once you have had an aft cabin boat they are often very hard to better.
OVM is a good place to keep her, very helpful staff and so close to Southampton Water and the ability to get up on the plane.
Mike.

Hi Imperial One, yes the prize is a scotch, I was only admiring your Atlantic the other day, a lovely bit of kit, will be down on Friday and Sat Am if you want to pop in

best wishes

Hi Paul,
That's it, you have said my favourite word, Scotch!
I am just waiting confirmation of Friday morning from a colleague and if it comes together I will try and come by to say hello and see the boat.
I guess you walk past Celebration, the other AT42 in OVM as you go to your boat, If the owners are on board you should say hello to them, they are lovely people who used to have a Broom 38 so you would have much common ground.
Mike.

Hi Imperial One

I will ready the Single malt collection, you are most welcome, and agree with you re Ocean Village, had fantastic service since we arrived two weeks ago. Lovely bunch of people
