How good a deal 'coz I thought these things were on extended deliveries? I would arrange a long seatrial first because you'll find it very different to a Targa. The hull is semi displacement with a large keel although it'll do mid 20's with big enough engines. I would expect it not to slam as much into a head sea compared to a full planing hull but possibly be a bit twitchy in a following sea although not enough to worry about. You'll probably thinks its a bit slow as well
For me the 42CL has the ideal cruising boat layout for N European waters. Fantastic aft cabin and excellent deck layout

The one in question is the Excel 2004 boat that has not sold all year. At the show the model on display from Offshore powerboats was also available.

I like the space and we tend not to go much faster than 20 - 25 knots anyway.

If he still logs on, should get a response from the owner of Millenium Falcon its the 42CL that features on all the Broom brochures. Hes got 350 Yanmars and cruisers at the speeds you mention. As mike suggests a completely different animal to a Targa, very civilised and supremely comfortable

Well, I am surprised. They'll be a bit desperate to sell before Excel '05 then
