Does anybody know where I can get those bronze pins that go through my bronze rigging toggles? I have lots a couple that neeed replacing (and tried Classic Marine already - they dont do them)

I was looking at the bronze bottlescrews from Davey and co, and their clevis pins are stainless steel (which did surprise me.). Should your pins be bronze?

Well to be honest I juts want something that fits and dont really mind what they are. My original ones are bronze - so that is why I went for that thinking that imperial sizes would be easier to find in bronze.

You could make them from bronze bar, from classic marine, drilled for a split pin at each end.

On the other hand, you could get some bronze bar a bit over size, and send it to me, and I will turn you up some spiffy Toggle pins from it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.....Hmmmmmm, come to think of it, I may have some bronze bar in my stash.

Yeah, but you would charge him for the service no doubt!
If this is a volunteer free service, can I have a couple of dozen, 1/2" please. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nope, wouldn't charge him at all, I have been following his progress with "Roach", and am much impressed........

Tis little enough to offer a bit of help to some folk.

Good for you Smiffy.

Well thankee Sir......Dunno why some folks seem to think that everybody has got their hands out? How's the trailer coming along? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

But did you not notice the grin at the end of the post? Obviously not!
As for some folk thinking others have their hands out, dont they mostly?

Anyway, when do I expect delivery?

Use 136 stainless. Bronze breaks. OF

Or even 316 stainless /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif........though silicon bronze is plenty strong enough for a wee boat.

Sorry for my late response, been on a non-boaty long weekend. Thanks for both your offers, but the first thing is that I need to check the dimensions when I take Roach to Woodbridge for the maritime festival this weekend. Then I can see what is the best course of action. Classic marine might have some Merriman spares apparently, if not I might kindly take you up on that offer Smiffy!
