My ex has just bought himself a 20 footer with a Britt Sprite 10HP petrol engine- couldn't find anything on the web except that they were built into Invader 22s.
Anyone who has experience with this engine - and, more to the point, knows about the whereabouts of manual and/or drawings?
Would appreciate any info.

Re: brit sprite

They were made in Bridport, Dorset by Brit marine, up till the 1970's. They were installed as auxiliaries in yachts such as Kestrels, and in motor boats, and were a similar engine to the Stuart Turner. The main difference is they are 4 stroke instead of 2 stroke, which means they are more economical to run, don't foul the plug, idle properly, but more expensive to buy. They are also rougher running, with only 1 firing stroke per revolution instead of two. The "Sprite" is a twin-cylinder engine, and they also made a single pot version, the "Imp".

However, I don't know where to get spares from now. Fairways Marine at Maldon used to do them, but they have now given up on them.
