Today there even was sun for a few hours. Bit rough out there, so half the Dutch holiday fleet is marooned in Brighton by the looks of it. Talked to one who was already fed up with it and decided to cancel trip to Cowes and head over to the French coast instead. This guy didn't mind:

That's probably why Holland is mostly half empty. They all made the mistake of thinking that Britain still had summers.
 
I looked at Marine Traffic AIS this morning, approx 20 Dutch boats heading up the Medway.
Are they invading us again:)?
 
I was in Holland for 3 weeks mid june to early july and there was no summer there. Lots of rain nearly every day and wind always from the wrong direction.
We went through Holland from early June and had several glorious days sailing the Ijselmeer and motoring through Friesland before crossing the Arctic Circle.
