Britain By Boat - Tonight Channel 5 20:00- East Coast Episode

I had very low expectations before switching on the programme and felt more than justified afterwards. They even managed to get a shot of Ramsgate into the Blackwater sequence.

So to sum up, my viewing would be more enjoyable spent watching sailing on you tube.

YES quite so quite so kind Sir

Mind you I do appreciate those Dylan progs now even more so since seeing this attempt at a programme series; I do enjoy on those Dylan ones seeing places that I recognise and used to frequent when based in Suffolk areas; mind you I do shout at Dylan when he misses out mentioning good places of interest {:-)#

Well I just gave up watching it on demand. The forced banter is very irritating and unrelenting.

So they didn’t just get drunk in the cockpit and then fix the universe??

I mean , you hardly have to script this sort of thing...

Seems as though Buerk and Sargeant don't like each other much - which makes for poor chemistry and an uncomfortable feeling of watching a couple argue. Didn't hit series link

You Sir are a fool

Why thank you.

Ok, endured, I know I am new to this, live in Greenhithe, ex-Medway, know Kent pretty well, only done PB2, but how much did they want to dramatise crossing the Thames Estuary, I cannot wait until I get a go, biggest bunch of fairies, and at the start coming out of harbour. Emergency.... really....?

The script writers need a slap and stop trying to make it in to a drama, and start covering the coast you are travelling around, no, they give us two waffling old sods who only want to find the next pub.

We laughed a lot, fairies.

A very pretty boat...such a shame it is being let down by sloppy continuity and scriptwriters who obviously couldn't get a job writing for one of the soaps. That is an hour of my life I will never get back!

Indeed a very pretty boat, but as was pointed out earlier it has been for sale for a few years with a current price of £650,000.
One could suspiciously wonder if it is a heavily disguised advert for its sale. The rest of the series is obviously being sponsored by the extremely tacky raffle for a holiday, with free spending money to encourage the gullible.

Why do you think the "plebs" want drivel either?

Presumably some TV executive has decided what the public like and make programmes to fit that. I feel the same about the Guy Martin programmes which many peeps seem to love.

My father's maxim in business was:

"Don't try to educate the public - give the ignorant buggars what they want"

So the Public are "ignorant buggars"?
