The newsletter from the marina tells that as from Easter there will a catering unit by the tower from which you can order breakfast and that it will delivered to your boat!

Marina fee "There will be small increase" - contract = 5% increase. They have been very fair in the past but this is a tad more than inflation. (£79.10 a foot = VAT) Hey ho. Still best location for me.

I signed the contract & took it back Friday. I noticed that it is another £ 400+( something like that forget exact sum) for those paying by 12 monthly standing order. tried to get £ 200 off for paying 3 months early instead, (due 01 April) but they were not having it. In the end I managed another free tide table booklet (y)

I really find it odd that one would take the standing order option, if it is so expensive. My fee (not inc haul out, launching & cradle) is £ 3081 PA & if one has not got that sort of money available & has to pay by SO; then the question has to be asked - Can one really afford to keep the boat in the first place? ( bearing in mind how much dearer SO option is)

There was a forum thread earlier about boat cost to personal net worth. Someone suggested that few people raised loans to buy yachts these days. Seems that perhaps paying a marina fee by SO is the same thing. Be interesting to know if many of Bradwell's customers take the option. I can see the reasoning, if they intend to do a runner later in the season though.

But as Roger said earlier, it is a god marina. It has friendly obliging staff. For me it is only 4.4 miles from home so suits me very well. The boat is secure & the position on the Blackwater estuary is excellent

I will be staying too. The breakfast idea sounds interesting.

Not that I have had many surveys done, but first place I come across that charged a surveyor to come on site for a survey. Yacht was in marina, I was already paying them for a lift scrub etc.
Due to its location, was never going to leave boat there, but certainly did not endear me to the place!

£260 / Metre. Compares well with Suffolk Yacht Harbour at £321/Metre (less 5% for full payment in advance). I bought my boat at Bradwell and like the marina and location. If i lived anywhere south of the Stour it would be a good choice for me as well!
