Think we have made up our mind to move the boat up to Bray Marina... are we making the right choice? Any feedback would be so gratefully received, thanks. S.

From many visits by car and a couple by water plus knowing a few boaters who park there, appears to be a very nice well run marina.
All they really need to make the place perfick is a decent c***h***e :):):)
Duck and runs.

Who can tell without knowing much more about you, your boat and what you enjoy doing river wise?
As other have already said, Bray is one of the nicest marinas on the river, well situated for good cruising destinations both up and down river. Well managed and maintained with a resident boat sales and club (shut up Fred, we know your views about the cl*bh**s*).
How far is it from home? You can obviously afford it but it is considerably more expensive than Saxon.
We've spent 4 happy years there but just moved back down river to PH which is closer to home and less driving hassle when the M25 is at its worst which seems to be much of the time these days!

We were there for 5 years, but the incessant queuing for the piddly little lock got on our nerves so we moved.

Harleyford still has a piddly little lock, but nobody else goes out so we get it to ourselves.

Bray is certainly spacious and attractive, most pontoons are easy to get to with a boot load of stuff, the moorings are well maintained, free of Goose excreta and well served with power and water.

The restaurant is good, and you'll get plenty of mileage if you join the club, which has special offers with several local businesses who sponsor the club via the magazine!

Parking is pretty good, with plenty of toilets, showers and all pontoons are secure (not impassable, as we recently had some outboards stolen, but that sadly is unavoidable sometimes)

Staff are excellent IMHO, and we have fuel and gas cylinders. We don't have toilet emptying facilities, but Windsor do downstream, and upstream you only need to pass Cookham if you feel the need!

The river is good both up and down, its a day and a half to Tedders, or a day to Henley, with plenty of mooring up and down.

But I'm sure you know that!

Let me have your details if you need a membership form for BCC... :D

Coming up to my 3rd year at Bray but getting itchy hull(feet) to go to sea one day. As said, good parking and facilities.
Some very nice people on my pontoon(G) of which many travel along way to have their boat moored here.
Lifting fees are more expensive here than they are at MDL's Penton Hook. Not tried the restaurant as it is quite pricey.

Go to sea, who can afford it these days in a stink pot the cost of fuel is prohibitive. The only way is to join the rag n stick fraternity. Whilst I enjoy the odd sail day all the work in setting t'gallants and porting your starboard coupled with tacking and sitting at an angle out in a wet cockpit doesn't appeal. The only thing that appeals is the holier than thou attitude one can adopt towards "those smelly jelly moulds".

Visited yesterday and am well pleased with the difference in facilities and general standard. Nice people and as I can tell from here, some decent neighbours. Can't wait to meet you all. Did spot some familiar Boats from on here to, which was good. See you when the river allows... :-)

Or come down the road to Windsor and we have a lovely club house as well.

Now I am running and ducking for cover from the BCC lot! :p
