Bradwell BBQ Sat 3rd May Roll Call

Surely with quite a good forecast some of the Bradwell occupants who are afloat will be going away for the night. I guess the Marina staff just don't know who yet so are just hedging their bets.

Sorry I cannot join you all, prior commitment (the sooner I finish as Hon Sec of Sailing Association the better!) - have a great time /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, the sloping rounders sounds fun - what is the forefit for a lost ball? If Morgana and Full Circle are involved why do I think it will involve alcohol (hic!) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Yes I think this is the case, also bearing in mind they are expecting two clubs to visit too - and they don't have too many wide berths.

Our beam wasn't a problem on the South Coast, hope it's not going to be a problem here. We're only 4-5ft wider than the same length monohull so it's not like we're colossally broad. The chap at Bradwell said at one point that the channel up to there might be deep enough for us but perhaps not wide enough - I think he must have been overcautious there!

Rounders bat and several replacement soft balls now in possession.

Restocking the Full Circle Larder and Wine Cellar tonight. No beer under the sole yet though - going to wait to see if it stays dry in the bilges.

Looking forward to the first trip of the season, always a bit stressful.

It looks like a narrow but ok weather window and lightish SE for Saturday which should make it ok for those sailing to Bradwell /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not many marinas really - lots of lovely anchorages / moorings to be had. Your dog may need to have dinghy lessons!

[/ QUOTE ]Well she probably should but she's an old dog who isn't much of a seadog anyway and is theoretically on her last legs so we keep waiting for her to keel over and conk out... and she keeps on going.

I'm assuming we will get into Bradwell OK being earlyish to arrive (hopefully) but will smile sweetly at another large boat to raft up to if necessary!

Ooh, very gallant!

I'm sure we'll be fine and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, hopefully all tucked cosily up in the marina and preparing for slopey rounders.

Turning the weather gods onto me is not nice

Well we're just about to trot off now down to Brightlingsea, faff around a bit waiting for the water to appear and then we'll be on our way. Should see y'all before noon.

Dog looks like she's feeling slightly under the weather so we hope the fresh sea air will perk her up a bit.

Hope you all have a pleasant time. Weather down there looks great. We locked out of the basin today whilst friends were off down to brightlingsea and bradwell.

Only for a flotilla of about 13 coming from shotley to replace us and a handful in the canal.
